KFLA is excited to announce a Call to Action on Health—and what better action than walking!
Join us in answering the 18th US Surgeon General, Regina Benjamin’s (KNFP-14) call to get America walking and the robust Every Body Walk collaborative called together by Tyler Norris (KNFP-15) and Kaiser Permanente.
Your class will compete against 19 other cohorts for the most miles walked between May and September—the top class wins $5000 to donate or use as a scholarship.
We’ve lined up 3 virtual routes and tour guides that will show you trails along which walking has shaped history and community.
Three Kellogg Fellows will serve as your tour guides:
- Dr. Betty Overton (KNFP-09) will be your conductor on the Underground Railroad
- Dr. Robert Flores (KNFP-09) will introduce the Mission Bells of California
- Dr. Kenneth Campbell (KNFP-14) will share information about the longest walk in the United States, the Appalachian Trail.
A walking coach has been chosen from each class—they will head up your group and connect with you using the Kellogg Fellows Community.
You will be hearing from your class coach soon—Start Walking!
