Brilliant & Resilient: Celebrating the Power of Disabled Women Activists
by Mobility International USA (MIUSA), edited by Susan Sygall (KNFP-14) and Susan Dunn
Susan writes "my Kellogg experience was a catalyst to the creation of this book" which "highlights a marginalized group of activists who are breaking down preconceived notions of what is possible and changing our world"
This 120-page, full color, coffee table-style photographic book features powerful portraits and personal stories of 50 disabled women activists from 41 countries. Their stories illustrate issues that significantly impact the lives of women with disabilities, including access to education, employment, political power, reproductive health services, and HIV/AIDS and violence prevention.
With a unified voice, women with disabilities are successfully articulating their needs, issues and achievements to the world and infiltrating broader human rights and gender equality movements.
Proceeds from this book go to support MIUSA’s future women’s leadership trainings.
