Biography

Yvonne has dedicated her life to strengthening the lives of children and families. She is a descendant of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Tribe. Yvonne has a special passion for supporting the preservation, development and self-determination of Native American families. Yvonne has completed her Masters in Social Work from the University of Southern California and is currently attending a Doctor of Social Work program at Capella University. She has been working in social services in the last twenty two years and in the last three years she has been working with Tribal Communities to develop a Title IV-E program. Yvonne is an advocate for children and families and her passion is to strengthen communities , children and families with an emphasis in Indian Child Welfare and Indian Country. She helps children stay connected to their families, extended families and to their Native American heritage and community ties.
