Biography
Edward is an established leader in the field of dual language education. As the deputy director of Dual Language New Mexico, Edward works with schools, educators, administrators, elected officials and families to ensure dual language programs are respected, resourced and community-based. He previously worked in the Oregon school system, both as a principal and as director of bilingual and migrant programs, working to address the challenges facing children and families, particularly in the migrant farmworker community. He has committed his professional career to serving low-resourced and underprivileged students and advocating to ensure they have equal access to education, the political system and social power structures.
