STATE OF ALASKA (ANCHORAGE, AK) 7/92-Present Office of Children’s Services (OCS), Quality Assurance Unit 11/04-Present Reviewed Child Protection Services records using federal instrument to determine compliance with federal and state mandates to assure child safety, permanency, and well being. Develop and maintain Unit’s databases. Co-Investigator, Healthy Families Alaska Comprehensive Evaluation 6/99-10/04 Developed the framework for a randomized control trial of the Healthy Families Alaska program. Worked closely with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Principle Investigator for the study in finalizing the study design and all aspects of implementation of the five-year study. Facilitated a partnership relationship between study and program staff to assure that information learned throughout the course of the study could be used to strengthen the program. Healthy Families Alaska Program Manager 1/95-6/02 Directed the development of the Healthy Families Alaska program, a child abuse prevention initiative established in 1995. The program provides home visiting services to at-risk parents of newborns intensively (initially, visits once per week) and for the long term (3-5 years). Seven sites provided services to 360 families. Unit Manager, Family and Community Services 7/92-12/00 Administrator for several statewide programs in the Section of Maternal, Child, and Family Health including Healthy Families Alaska, the Alaska Domestic Violence Prevention Training Project, an oral health initiative, Specialty Clinics, Health Care Program for Special Needs and Childhood Injury Prevention. Ensured that programs were in compliance with state and federal regulations; directed program development; negotiated agreements and contracts with service providers; and promoted systems development.
