Biography

I didn’t do well in my O’Level and wanted to redo it, but my parents couldn’t afford to pay the school fees. When I was tapped for the KSAL programme in 2002, that’s when my life started to change. As youths who were doing nothing, Kellogg involved us in leadership training programmes through the Leadership Regional Network for Southern Africa. The KSAL programme groomed me to be the person I am today. I changed my behavior and learned how to work as part of a group and with people of all ages. I started to understand my responsibilities and to take initiative. I was selected as a community youth leader. The support that I got from KSAL was so helpful, especially the leadership workshops, where I gained skills on how to run my small business that helped me to make money. My mind was opened. I managed to support myself through those skills. I joined other youth in my community selling shares through Junior Achievement Zimbabwe. We sold those shares and managed to buy one cow that produced calves. Then, we managed to share those cows with each member of the group. I was selected to do an internship program for one year in the IRT Offices doing all office duties and I also benefited from a scholarship to study in South Africa. I obtained a qualification in executive secretarial in Public Relations in 2012. Currently, I’m working as an office administrative assistant at Health Partners in Johannesburg, where I am gaining a lot of new skills.
