Biography

Mark is founder and executive director at Reach Incorporated, an organization that hires struggling high school readers to be elementary school reading tutors. Founded in 2009, the organization has achieved industry-leading outcomes in reading growth among their high school tutors and elementary school students. Reach currently serves approximately 200 participants at five locations. Mark also serves on the Board of Directors of the William Penn Charter School, an independent Quaker school in Philadelphia, the Local School Advisory Team at Eastern Senior High School and on the Advisory Board of An Open Book Foundation, a nonprofit organization that brings books and authors to low-income schools in D.C.
