Ana has been at the forefront of building multi-racial coalitions. She has more than 15 years of experience as a trainer and organizational development consultant on equity issues. Ana founded the consulting project Co-Power Together, focused on increasing the capacity of movement-building organizations and tackling inequity and competition dynamics across vulnerable communities. As a Latina of indigenous descent who grew up in poverty in El Salvador and in the Pico Union neighborhood of Los Angeles, she understands the need to focus on systemic change while working with individuals to promote inclusion and achieve racial equity. She is guided by her belief that addressing barriers to inclusion must not come at the expense of creating negative competitive dynamics with other communities.
