Lucinda Kurtz is the Outreach and Communications Director for Fair Food Network, a non-profit organization working at the intersection of food systems, sustainability and equity to guarantee access to healthy, fresh and sustainably grown food, especially in underserved communities. Previously, Lucinda worked in the international arena in both China and Russia. In 1990, she founded the non-profit organization Global Hopemakers, through which she established a Sister City relationship between Lansing, MI and St. Petersburg, Russia, and created a youth exchange program between the young people of these cities. Prior to starting Global Hopemakers, she taught in the Women’s Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh, founded the Georgia Women’s Political Caucus when she lived in Atlanta, and was elected Vice President of the National Women’s Political Caucus. Balancing her professional work in the public arena with exploration of the inner realms of being, Lucinda is a certified Hands of Light Energy Healer, having graduated from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in 1999. She received her M.A. in 1976 from the University of Pittsburgh. She is grateful to have 3 healthy and creative adult children and a loving husband.
