Biography

David Introcaso, Ph.D., is an independent healthcare policy consultant in Washington DC. Among related activities he created and produces a healthcare policy podcast (www.thehealthcarepolicypodcast.com). Previously David worked at the Marwood Group, a non-partisan health care policy and research consultancy shop. David did health policy work for the House Majority Leader, Rep. Steny Hoyer, served in the Office of the DHHS Secretary as a Public Health Analyst and was the Evaluation Officer at the DHHS’s Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality. David also has experience in hospice care having worked with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and at the National Institutes of Health. He moved to DC in 1997 to work at the DC General Hospital. David spent the first 12 years of his career doing environmental/natural resources research in the American Southwest. He has taught as an adjunct at Georgetown and The George Washington University and his recent community work concerns advocating for midwifery care/services and on behalf of survivors of childhood sexual abuse. His terminal degree is a Ph.D. degrees in social science.
