Biography

Dr. Geetanjali Datta is an Assistant Professor at the University of Montreal whose research interests include the social epidemiology of cancer, cancer prevention and social determinants of health. She conducts research on multilevel predictors of cancer--related behaviors and on assessing social inequalities in cancer survival. In addition to her work with the Center, her current work involves assessing geographic variation in cancer survival and mortality in the U.S. and cancer-related behaviors on the island of Montreal. A former W.K. Kellogg and Alonzo Yerby Fellow, Dr. Datta holds a B.A. in biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.P.H. from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University, and an Sc.D in cancer epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health.
