Biography

Bachstein, who joined Southcoast in 2008 as Director of Medical Space Planning is now currently serving as the Vice President of Support Services where he oversees Real Estate, construction, EVS, Food and Nutrition, and capital planning. Prior to joining Southcoast, he headed a private architectural practice that included work on both private and commercial properties in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In addition to being an urban planner and project architect for the City of New Bedford, Bachstein also worked for William Kite Architects in Rhode Island. He is a graduate of University of Missouri at Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Housing Design and Urban Planning. Bachstein also attended the Rhode Island School of Design and received a Bachelor of Science in Fine Arts and a Masters of Architecture. He is a Kellogg National Leadership Fellow, a member of the American Institute of Architects and a registered architect.
