Biography

Carol is president of LORAC Consulting, LLC, in Cobb, Wis. She is professor emerita, Department of Human Development, College of Human Ecology, at Cornell University. She served as associate director of Cornell Cooperative Extension for 20 years and as assistant dean of the College of Human Ecology. She has served as president of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and is currently editor of the Journal of Family and Consumer Sciences. Carol received the ISU Alumni Association Outstanding Young Alumna award in 1978 and the ISU College of Family and Consumer Sciences Professional Achievement Award in 1991, and she received the 2005 American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Distinguished Service Award. In her community, Carol has been involved in her church and chamber of commerce and was the first female president of her local Rotary. She earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Ph.D. degree from Iowa State University, all in family and consumer sciences. At LORAC she focuses on program evaluation and strategic planning consulting.
