Biography

Meredith Freeman is Founder and Principal of MJK Community Partners, LLC. Meredith is a highly skilled practitioner with extensive experience in nonprofit management and community development. She attended graduate school at the prestigious New School in New York, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Management and Urban Policy. While living in and loving New York City, she became the Associate Director of Episcopal Charities of the Diocese of New York and was a Community Programs Officer with Citibank Global Community Relations, where she managed Citi’s grants programs in 12 U.S. cities. Meredith also served as an adjunct professor and taught graduate-level courses in nonprofit management at the New School and Seton Hall University. In Detroit, she began working with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), where she was a Senior Program Officer. In the last two years of her tenure, she served as the Senior Program Officer for Operations. Since 2009, Meredith has been a consultant to Fair Food Network’s efforts in Detroit, where she has developed innovative programs such as the Fair Food Fund and helped build the capacity of community based organizations and small food businesses.
