Biography

Margarita has an extensive experience developing projects in San Juan Cancuc, Chenalho, Tenejapa, and other communities in the state of Chiapas. Currently, she is working as Tzeltal and Tzotzil translator in the project Community Health and Basic Environmental Sanitation in communities of extreme poverty in Chiapas. Also, she is a member-founder of the Organization for the Defense of Traditional Indigenous Medicine in Chancolom, Crulija, San Juan Cancuc, Mesbija and Oxchuc, Chiapas. Her medium-term objective is to strengthen the rescue of traditional medicine through the provision of workshops and production of organic products.
