Biography

Dr. Anthony Omojasola, research interests are in reducing health service disparities in low-income populations, especially as they relate to health care access, health insurance, and prescription drugs. During his W.K. Kellogg Health Scholars Program fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Center for Research on Minority Health, he will be examining the utilization of discount generic prescriptions as a way of reducing health disparities among low-income populations. Additionally, he examined the capacity of public and primary care providers that serve the uninsured, underinsured, and Medicaid populations in Houston. The demand for primary care by the uninsured will be compared to supply to monitor service gaps and evaluate initiatives to expand capacity. His educational background includes: B.S. Health Care Administration and Planning (Tennessee State University, Nashville), Master of Health Administration (Tulane University, New Orleans), and Doctor of Public Health (University of Kentucky, Lexington). He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Anthony Omojasola is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Park DuValle Community Health Center, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center in Louisville, Kentucky. He works with Community Based Organizations to pursue health programs that establihes medical homes for the underserved, coordinate access to primary health care services to low-income or uninsured individuals, address primary health care service gaps, and ultimately reduce health disparities.
