Biography

My background is in social work and public health with 17 years at the Arkansas Department of Health. During my Kellogg fellowship I studied international models of rural economic development. In 1993 I founded Becky Williams and Associates of which I am President. Becky Williams and Associates partners nationally and internationally with community based organizations and other nonprofit organizations which work with smaller community organizations. Partnerships include organizational, program and board development, planning, monitoring and evaluation. The majority of my work involves facilitating the learning of participatory tools and methods which promote democratic participation. Tools include participatory action research, popular education, oral histories, and values based participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation. Some of my clients include Delta Women and Youth Achieving Goals, Heifer International, Arkansas Delta Rural Development Network, WK Kellogg Foundation, and Coopapueblos Cooperativo and Dama Unidas in Coopabuena, Costa Rica.
