Biography

Carolyn Levering is President and CEO of the National Marfan Foundation (NMF). Levering has been at the helm of the National Marfan Foundation since 1994. Under her leadership, the NMF has transformed from a small grass roots support organization to a sizable, nationally recognized non-profit volunteer health organization. At the national level, Levering has served on the executive committee for America’s Charities, Health First. In addition, she has been active in Long Island-based organizations, having served on the Board of Directors for the Child Care Council of Nassau County, REACH, Inc., Port Washington Children’s Center, and Community Chest of Port Washington. She was honored in 2007 by the Town of Hempstead and named a member of the Newburger Women’s Roll of Honor. A Kellogg National Fellow, Ms. Levering earned her Master's Degree in urban planning from Hunter College, New York, NY, and her B.A. degree from Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY.
