Biography

Prof. Mia Defever, Ph.D. is a professor at the Centre for Health Services and Nursing Research at the Catholic University of Leuven. Prof. Defever was Editor-in-Chief of the International Refereed Journal "Health Policy" (Elsevier Science Publishers) and was Member of the Flemish Health Council (Vlaamse Gezondheidsraad). Prof. Defever is highly experienced in comparative health policy analysis of European healthcare systems and health care reforms. She has authored and co-authored a number of international refereed publications, and collaborated in national and international research projects. In addition, she has been at key-note speaker at international conferences and study-visits in Europe, the United States, Latin-America and The People's Republic of China. Prof. Defever holds a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Leuven.
