Biography

Gail Dana-Sacco, PhD, MPH, a member of the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Sibyig, has devoted a lifetime of service to the Native communities of Maine in public health, education, community development and research. Dr. Dana-Sacco, founder of Wayfinders for Health, a Public Health Research & Consultation Company applies her knowledge and skills to assist communities and organizations to find pathways to improved health outcomes by critically examining and working to address the structural drivers of health disparities. Dr. Dana-Sacco earned her PhD in Health and Social Policy at the Johns Hopkins University where she remains affiliated with the Center for American Indian Health as a faculty associate. Dana-Sacco’s research interests include: indigenous languages and health; the politics of health policy; the structural bases of health disparities; injury and indigenous research methodologies.
