Biography

In May 2008, I got mail from the post office with documents from KSAL. This was a special moment I will never forget. I signed a contract to study any course of my choice. I was invited to attend several workshops presenting my community ploughbacks and learning about leadership skills. Later on that year, I had to register for a study permit in Botswana to study at Limkonkwing University of Technology. As I was pregnant, I decided to study in my country. In September 2009, I registered for Entrepreneurship at Tshaneni Boston Business College. In 2010, I graduated with my Diploma in Entrepreneurship. The KSAL programme was a turning point in my life and my family’s life that changed both for the better. With the monthly stipend from KSAL, I was able to pay school fees for my younger sister who was doing O’ Level, buy my daughter a pregnant goat (now, we have seven) and pay for medical care to treat my mother who was critically ill. With God’s grace, I intend to pass on the spirit of Ubuntu that Kellogg demonstrated to me. KSAL genuinely transformed my life for the better and I am so grateful. I studied Entrepreneurship so that I can have a better idea of how to start my own business and create job opportunities for youth in my community and nationwide. KSAL taught me that integrity is vital. I am only but one, I cannot do everything, but I can do something and I need to do what I ought to do. I strongly believe that with the qualifications that I obtained, I will achieve greater heights.
