Dr. Raimundo is Associate Professor of Human Geography since 2015. She holds a Bhonors in Geography by Eduardo Mondlane University (Mozambique) and a MA in Humana Geography and a PhD in Forced Migration by the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. Prof. Raimundo research focuses on migration (Diaspora, forced migration, cross border, internal and international migration), food security, HIV, climate change and urbanization. She has been employed by Eduardo Mondlane University since 1995 and currently she is the Head of Department of Academic Quality of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She is member of international academic associations, namely UAPS (African Union of Population Studies), OSSREA (Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa), AFSUN (African Food Security Network), AURI (African Urban Research Initiative), SAMP (Southern African Migration Program), and IUSSP (International Union for the Scientific Study of Population). In the year of 2015 she joined the International Council for Science (ICSU) Regional Committee for Africa (RCA) as one of the members for Africa. Lastly, but not least she is Kellogg Alumnae.
