Biography

Elected in 2014, Timothy Keller became one of the youngest State Auditors in the country. His vision for the auditor's office includes developing policies for distributing financial resources throughout the state more equitably and efficiently. Previous to his role as State Auditor, Tim was elected twice to the State Senate in one of the most diverse districts in New Mexico, encompassing Albuquerque's International District. He rose to the position of Majority Whip and successfully sponsoring legislation including wage retaliation prevention, immigrant protection, community schools, tax incentive reform, benefit corporations, and in state business preference to create local jobs. In addition to his public service, Tim spent fifteen years in the private sector, most recently as a business economist dedicated to helping Native American government and business financial operations. He also lived three years in Cambodia where he ran Data Digital Divide (DDD), the nation's first IT social enterprise which extends help to land mine victims and other disadvantaged persons. Tim was born and raised in New Mexico and attended the University of Notre Dame and went on to earn an MBA with honors from the Harvard Business School. Tim is also devotee of heavy metal music and fast food. He lives in Albuquerque with his wife, Elizabeth and their kids Maya and Jack.
