Biography

Gabriel is an established leader and an associate professor of political science at the University of New Mexico, where he also serves as the executive director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center for Health Policy. Gabriel’s current research explores the relationship between access to quality food and educational outcomes; his upcoming research will focus on the well-being of children in mixed-status families. Gabriel is director of the American Economic Association’s Summer Training Program and serves on the Leadership Council of the United Way of Central New Mexico’s Hispanic Philanthropic Society.
