Biography

Mayra Liliana Dzul was born in Hecelchakan, State of Campeche; Mayra holds a BA in biology by the Autonomous University of the State of Campeche. She speaks Maya and her areas of interest are: biodiversity, development and implementation of research projects and sustainable development, conservation and natural resource management, ethno biology, rescue of traditional Mayan knowledge, as well as the dissemination of science and environmental education. Her experience includes apiculture processes for the extraction of honey and reproduction and management of bees. Mayra has been awarded with a grant from the “Pablo Garcia Foundation” and she has been fellow of the “Program for Indigenous Students”.
