Biography

Dr. Isaac Sanders was appointed to the position Executive Director, The Texas Association of Developing Colleges, (TADC) August 2017. Located in Dallas, Texas the goal of TADC is to assist in the demonstration and promotion of inter-institutional cooperation among the colleges. Prior to he served as Vice President for University Advancement at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Sanders had responsibility for development, alumni relations, corporate and community relations. He also serves as Executive Director of the ESU Foundation. Sanders earned his Doctorate in Philosophy in Higher Education Administration at Kansas State University. He holds his Master of Science in Rural Sociology from Cornell University and his Bachelor of Science in Education from the Tuskegee Institute. Most recently Dr. Sanders served as the Vice President for Advancement and Associate Professor at Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was Executive Assistant to the President at Alabama State University, and served as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services and Associate Professor of Education at Tuskegee University. Dr. Sanders was formerly Vice President of Resource Development and Corporate Officer of the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. New York, New York. He was also Vice President of Minority Programs at Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, Princeton, New Jersey; and the Director of Federal Relations in the Office of University Advancement at Alabama State University. In addition to his extensive administrative and teaching experience, Dr. Sanders served with the Ministry of Development, Crossroads Africa, Ethiopia in 1968 and as a Kellogg Fellow with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation of Battle Creek, Michigan from 1990 to 1993. Dr. Sanders' past professional consulting work includes The College Fund/Eli Lilly Endowment, UNCF/HBCU pogrom, 2002, The U.S. Department of Education HBCU Capital Financing Program, 2000 and Ayers and Associates for the Mott Foundation on "Best practices" at Colleges/University's across the United States from 2000 to 2002. Dr. Sanders' post graduate work includes the Executive Management Program, Certificate Program, School of Business, Columbia University, New York, New York 1988, the Colorado Outward Bound School, Leadville, Colorado 1990 and the EF Institute, Spanish Immersion Course, Barcelona, Spain 1992. He has authored and co-authored in his fields of expertise for a number of professional publications including Research and Program Development Proposals, and the FVSC Research Journal. Dr. Sanders was selected to serve on the program planning committee for the Association of Governing Boards Of Universities And Colleges (AGB) 2004 Leadership Forum for Public College and University Foundations in July 2003. AGB is the only national organization providing university and college presidents, board chairs and individual trustees of both public and private institutions with the resources they need to enhance their effectiveness. For more than 75 years, AGB has had one mission: to advance the practice of citizen trusteeship and help to ensure the quality and success of our nation's colleges and universities. Dr. Sanders is also a certified Facilitator for AGB. As such he conducts Foundation Board Education Services Workshops across the country for Foundation Boards and University Boards of Trustees on "Basic Board Resonsibilities & Responsibilities for Fund-Raising". He is a member of numerous professional associations. Dr. Sanders has also provided professional consultancy to organizations such as the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. He has been a successful fundraiser, a community leader and has traveled the world extensively.
