Biography

I have recently retired after spending over 25 years in nursing education and conducting research and program development in the area of domestic violence with immigrant and rural women. After working as a nurse (in a variety of capacities) in the US since 1978, I moved to Malawi, Africa in 2013 to teach at Kamuzu College of Nursing. I initially went there on a Fulbright award, but after my 6 month committment, decided to stay. On 1 September, 2017 I retired from teaching and am now focusing on my family life. I was married in 2016 (for the first time at the age of 61) and lived in Malawi with my husband on our farm with our 5 dogs until the end of August 2017. I am now living in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland on our sheep farm. I would be interested in working in a limited capacity as a consultant or part-time teaching, preferably on line. I have worked primarily with graduate students in nursing. I am particulary interested in curriculum development and teaching in underserved areas.
