Biography

Dr. Mulder has extensive experience in higher education, spanning over four decades. A former community college president and a university dean and professor, she has held numerous positions in Michigan and Florida. Her professional experiences include, among others, former Board positions on the American Association of Community Colleges and the American Council on Education. Dr. Mulder has served as the first woman president of the President’s Academy of the American Association of Community Colleges. She has also served as an Advisor for the Kellogg Foundation’s National Fellows Program, and has worked with the Foundation on special projects in higher education. Dr. Mulder has also worked as a consultant for colleges and universities, as a member of accrediting teams for the North Central Association, and as a reader-evaluator for state and national granting agencies, concentrating on education and the arts. Dr. Mulder received her B.A. from Transylvania University. She holds a Master’s and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. She was recognized for Distinguished Service to the field of education from her alma mater Transylvania University, and she has received several awards from the College of Education at the University of Michigan. She has won numerous local, state, and national awards, including the Outstanding Service Award from the American Association of Community Colleges.
