Biography

Dr. Kleinstein is currently Professor of Optometry and Professor of Public Health at the UAB Schools of Optometry and Public Health. His research interests are in myopia, public health, clinical eye and vision care, and epidemiology. He currently is part of the CLEERE team which is investigating the development of myopia in children. He teaches in the UAB School of Optometry in the areas of Health Care and Policy, Environmental Vision, Professional Communications and Primary Care. He also provides direct eye and vision care to patients in the faculty private practice.
