Biography

Dr. Hodge is on the faculty of the School of Medicine of the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU) as Emeritus Clinical Professor - Medicine. He was formerly professor of clinical medicine in the Department of Medicine and clinical professor in the Department of Health Management and Informatics. He served as Medical Information Director in Integrated Technology Services of the University of Missouri Health Care (UMHC) and was Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine. Before joining the faculty at MU, he was vice president and medical director of the Commonwealth Health Alliance, Inc. (data analysis and managed care) in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Hodge has been a program director and consultant with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Michigan, working in the areas of health information systems, community health care and leadership. He consults with the American College of Physician Executives as a teaching fellow and faculty for the Certified Physician Executive Program and he has facilitated several online courses. Dr. Hodge attended Princeton University, Harvard Medical School, and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He served on the faculty as associate professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine as well as being medical director of Ambulatory Care Services for the University of Virginia Medical Center. He is a Distinguished Fellow of ACPE and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Hodge has served on the ACPE Board of Directors and was president in 1989-90. He has authored many articles in the areas of primary health care, leadership, information technology and managed care.
