Biography

Dr. Flora Dallo's primary research interest is to use a Community-Based Participatory Research approach to prevent chronic disease (especially diabetes) in minority and immigrant communities. She is also beginning to incorporate translational diabetes research into her work. Using CBPR and translational research, Dr. Dallo examines how and why diabetes disproportionately affects minority groups, and how these disparities can be alleviated. In addition, Dr. Dallo focuses on the process of immigration and acculturation and its effects on chronic diseases, especially in communities from the Middle East.
