Biography

Alvaro Silva-Carreño is retired and dedicates his time to his agribusiness, located in Colombia. Prior to this he served as Planning Director of Fedepalma, where he was responsible for the economic, social and environmental analysis of the agribusiness of Palma, as well as the design of projects and programs for unions and public propositions of the sector. He was Chair Professor of the National University on issues of commercialization, agribusiness and international trade since 1977, with extensive experience in agricultural policy design and commercialization.
