Biography

The turning point in my life was in November 2000, when God blessed me with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation Scholarship to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree (PhD) in the United States of America. This was a very generous scholarship that supported my PhD studies and leadership training. It was through this award that I was trained to help people help themselves and where I was taught how to make my training be of benefit to other people. The scholarship supported me and my family in the USA. I did my doctoral studies at New Mexico State University from August 2001 until May 2006. To this day I gratefully acknowledge the support of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. My study programme was the contribution to the Foundation's mission in support of the development of healthy and sustainable rural communities in Southern Africa. I appreciate the leadership training they provided during and after my PhD studies. I have had the opportunity of becoming part of the KSAL family which networks and supports each family member to serve better in our communities. To me, life is about serving other people; it is about making other people’s lives better than before. I am a better servant to my country and those I interact with through the training supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. I am currently a lecturer at the University of Swaziland (UNISWA), Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Animal Science. After obtaining my PhD, I am certainly a better teacher, researcher, leader and servant than before. At work, church, community and other forums I have been asked to provide leadership as well as provide expertise on several boards. Serving is indeed a fulfilling experience in my life. I am an optimist and always believe things will be better than what they are at present.
