Biography

For his ploughback project, Paradise Dube returned to his home District in Zimbabwe to work with another Fellow – Freeman Dube -- on the Masendu Khulani Poultry Project. Building on partnerships with local organisations, the two Fellows trained more than a dozen youths, orphans and other vulnerable children in the basics of the smallholder poultry business. Together, Paradise and Freeman aimed to establish a producer group in each of the local Ward’s six villages. By emphasizing how the producer groups could pool their resources and use modern methods to raise the birds, their ploughback has established a way to improve livelihoods and food security for school drop-outs and other at-risk youth.
