Donna is an established leader, a journalist and owner of the Jackson Free Press. Her life’s work is to tell real stories about her state and its people, to help empower others to do the same and provide a forum for this to occur. She believes it is imperative to embed good information and motivation inside the community so that people can help themselves. She has much to share about the power of media as a tool for social change. Donna writes about poverty, racism and economic inequality while also lifting up opportunities to address these structural challenges and improve the health and quality of life of the state’s residents and families. She wants to foster and support the next generation of journalists and reporters in Mississippi.
