Biography

Jehu Bautista born in Huazuntlan, State of Veracruz, Jehu studies a BA in intercultural studies, with special emphasis on the preservation of indigenous languages, at the Intercultural University of the State of Veracruz. He belongs to nahua ethnic group. His areas of interest are linguistic, cultural epistemology, intercultural education materials design, indigenous culture, translations from nahua to Spanish, methodology for education, and indigenous oral tradition. Jehu´s main concern is the rescue of the local culture of his community through the oral tradition of the older people. Currently, Jehu is working in the community radio “Tecuani” (Jaguar) spreading the importance of the conservation of the indigenous language. Finally, he is planning to write a book with a unique collection of nahua stories. Yo realizo investigaciones de corte cultural y lingüístico en comunidades indígenas con técnicas de animación sociocultural, al concluir mis diagnósticos se analiza con la comunidad y se buscan proyectos e iniciativas acorde a las necesidades. Actualmente trabajo realizando animación de la lengua con mi colectivo monsah mixti(hermosa nube)con programas radiofónicos en la radio comunitaria y obras de teatro en lengua indígena.
