Biography

As part of the Denver Healthy People Program, I work with multi-sector partners across the City to positively impact the health of Denver residents by increasing access to healthy and affordable food. Dr. Mondi Mason has worked in the field of public health for 20 years as a practitioner and a researcher. She applies her training as an Anthropologist and Community Health Educator to work with diverse groups in a variety of settings to develop, implement and evaluate effective public health interventions and community building initiatives. Utilizing community-based participatory research (CBPR) approaches, she works as an equal partner to develop innovative ways to engage community members, academicians, and service providers and build bridges to develop solutions to address issues that impact health and health care access. Utilizing a participatory evaluation approach, I worked closely with African American community members and HBCU faculty to provide evaluation technical assistance and evaluate their projects that addressed disparities in health and health care access. The evaluation included qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis and report writing.
