Biography

Mr. Schwarcz is an MD with degrees in Pediatrics, Neonatology, Hospital Management and a Master Degree in Clinical Epidemiology. Mr. Schwarcz has worked for 38 years at public hospitals, he has been the Director of the department of Neonatology in two different public hospitals (during 10 years in one, and 14 years in a second one) at the Province of Buenos Aires.Currently, he worked as a consultant for both Ministries of Health (National and at the Province of Buenos Aires) in a Program for the Regionalization of Perinatal Health Care. In november 2009, Mr. Schwarcz was appointed by PAHO (Pan American Health Organization) to write a proposal on regionalization of perinatal health care in Argentina. He has been accepted both by PAHO and by the heads of the Ministry of Health, so from July 2010 Mr. Schwarcz has been asked to organize intersectorial teams in order to evaluate the perinatal care situation and to propose new regional systems of care. Besides that, he has been doing epidemiological research in perinatal matters, and I has been teaching Hospital Management at the "Colegio de Médicos" (postgraduate School of MD´s) and he achieved a Masters degree in clinical epidemiology with a Fogarty fellowship. From october 2016 he is a consultant at PAHO in Buenos Aires.
