Biography

Barbara A. Elliott, PhD (KNFP 8) lives and works in Duluth MN. She is Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota Medical School, and part of the University's Center for Bioethics. She teaches ethics and works as a hospital ethicist, is the assisting priest at St Paul’s Episcopal Church, and serves on-call as a hospital chaplain. Her scholarly work is at the interface of spirituality, health care, ethics and quality of life. The passions in Barb's life include building communities, celebrating spirituality, learning science, doing pastoral care, and spending time out of doors and with her family (husband, two adult children, and grandchildren). Her life's work is focused on strengthening systems and communities to support the health and well being of all people.
