Biography

Dr. Josephine D. Davis, Professor Emerita of Mathematics at Fort Valley State University (FVSU), is a seasoned academic administrator and an internationally engaged educator. Dr. Davis has a distinguished history of transitioning the Glass Ceiling in leadership positions. She was the first female to serve as: Dean of Graduate Studies, Albany State University (ASU); Vice President for Academic Affairs at St. Cloud State University (MN), and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Fort Valley State University. Dr. Davis was the first female President of York College, The City University of New York. Now retired, Dr. Davis serves as a consultant for Quality Education for Minorities, Washington, DC and has been called to return to serve as Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Fort Valley State University.
