Biography

When I applied for the KSAL programme in 2005, I was self-sponsoring a Master’s of Science (MSc) in Environmental Science degree at the University of Botswana. The grant covered my research dissertation costs—relevant study materials/books, travel expenses. I graduated in October 2005. At the time, I was a part-time tutor at the University of Botswana. Thereafter, I got invited to KSAL workshops in Johannesburg, where I interacted with other Fellows and learned quite a lot of things, including research methodologies, leadership skills and entrepreneurship. As a result, my life changed for the better. It is this exposure that enhanced my skills such that I qualified to work in the research department of the Small Medium Micro Enterprise development agency. With the MSc qualification, I was able to apply for and get a job in the private sector. I progressed and continue to grow as a research and marketing professional in the entrepreneurship development sector. I am currently studying for an MBA online through Amity University of India. The benefit has also touched my family in a positive way.
