Biography

For his ploughback project, Mzuku worked with the SOS Children’s Village at Tlokweng, Botswana to identify and train children interested in learning smallholder poultry production. The Village takes care of up to 200 orphaned, destitute, and abandoned children with the aim of helping them become responsible and independent adults. Fruits and vegetables grown at the Village supply food for the children and a few cows supply milk. Mzuku aimed to give the children the technical know-how to raise and manage chickens to supplement their diet in the short-term and provide them with a potential livelihood for the long-term.
