Biography

Jennifer is an emerging leader working on education mobilization in her role as associate director of community impact at the United Way. She helped develop the Early Grade Reading Pilot Project, which has been very successful at helping children become proficient readers. She is very involved in the early childhood system in Battle Creek, serving on the Early Childhood Taskforce, attending Ready Team meetings, actively participating in the Great Start Collaborative and coordinating with the various early childhood initiatives to create positive change. She previously worked at the National Resource Center for the Healing of Racism and understands how racism cannot be extricated from poverty and social problems.
