Michael is chief equity officer and co-founder of Equity Matters, a Baltimore-based organization that seeks to build a social movement to demand and promote fair access to resources and opportunities for children and families of color. The organization houses several collaborating projects and represents the Baltimore Team of PLACE MATTERS, a nationwide but locally centered health equity movement from the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. Michael is also founder and president of Cradle to College Pipeline, Inc., focused on intervening and reversing the cradle to prison pipeline through advocacy, research, policy awareness and education.
