Biography

Kandace Vallejo is a community organizer, educator, and freelance journalist. She has spent the past ten years working alongside grassroots immigrant rights organizations supporting the cultivation of critical youth leaders who will carry on current struggles for justice. She holds a Masters in Education from UT-Austin and is an outgoing Food and Community Fellow at the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy. Currently, Kandace is a Liberal Arts instructor at the Austin School for the Performing and Visual Arts and is in the development phase of a summer leadership program that will serve low income immigrant youth in the Austin, Texas area.
