Biography

Patty Stephens, Ph.D., LMSW_ACP (KNFP-6) has a private practice in Austin, working with groups, individuals, and families. She also works with corporations and non profits on developing internal communities and increasing the contribution to external communities. In November 2011, Patty co-founded Climate Buddies, a non-profit that provides consolation on Energy Action steps and scientific tools for faith that neighborhood and educational communities can use to mitigate climate change, connecting local to global. Currently, Climate Buddies is expanding- now creating grassroots models for practical, measured actions to mitigate climate change by faith based groups. Called Faith and Energy Action Team at Climatebuddies.org.. Looking for Kellogg partners. Earlier Patty founded Community Education in Austin and helped bring this model to Mexico and Peru as well as U.S. Cities. Named Social Worker of the Year by the Tejas Chapter of NASW. Formerly in the Office of the Governor as Budget and Management Director for Health and Human Services , Patty made recommendations on the $2.1 budget and planning policies for 26 state health ans human agencies and medical schools.
