Biography

With more than 25 years of experience, John Grace is the President of GraceTeam, (www.LeaderhsipAging.org) a private consulting firm that helps business and social service organizations with strategic planning and organizational change to prepare for serving tomorrows elderly population. A master facilitator, Grace has helped dozens of aging and social service organizations with strategic planning, board retreats, coaching, revenue enhancements and efficiencies in operations. Grace served in a special consulting assignment as the vice president for Strategic Initiatives with the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging in Washington DC. Grace began his career as a licensed nursing home at Wexner Heritage Village - Jewish Home for Aged in Columbus Ohio in 1977. He then became the first executive director of Meadowlark Hills, a newly constructed Continuing Care Retirement Community in Manhattan, Kansas and served in that capacity for five years. In 1984, Grace became the president of the Kansas Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, a trade association serving 150 not-for-profit aging service providers in Kansas and served in that role for 20 years. From 1989-1991 Grace was a Fellow with the W.K. Kellogg National Leadership Program of Battle Creek Michigan participating in leadership development and traveling the world studying programs for children and the aging. Grace has been appointed by four Kansas Governors to special commissions and boards on aging and health care services and has been an adjunct professor at Washburn University. Grace is a 1977 graduate of the University of North Texas Center for Aging Studies with a Master's degree in Studies on Aging.
