Biography

David Culbert, a member of the LSU History Department since 1971, is internationally recognized as a pioneer and leader in the study of the history of film and other popular media. Culbert is the author or editor of five books, including a five-volume collection on film and propaganda. He has also published more than 70 articles and helped produce four films, including Ken Burns’ acclaimed “Huey Long.” Since 1992, he has served as the editor of the Historical Journal of Film Radio and Television, published in England, and he is listed in “Who’s Who in the World.”
