Diana Kurniawan immigrated from Jakarta, Indonesia, and was a Colorado transplant via Los Angeles, Southern California; Seattle, Washington State; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of California, Riverside, and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Loma Linda University School of Public Health. Diana worked in the field of Public Health for ten years in the fields of Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health and Infectious Diseases, for county and state level government agencies.

Diana fell in love with literature and non-profit marketing while working in the field of Public Health. An avid Michael Crichton fan, she has read most of his novels and hopes to somehow tie in the field of Public Health, social justice, and literature, while expanding her skills in the creative field through non-profit marketing. It was while she attended University of Colorado, Denver, School of Public Affairs, majoring in Domestic Violence and Public Administration, that she became immersed in the world of journalism, design, communications, and non-profits.

Diana has also worked in the field of early childhood and education, and will continue to advocate for the well-being of children and young adults. She has worked as a community builder and will help KFLA increase the visibility of the organization in the community through story-telling, social media channels, website design, reports, and infographics cross culturally with consistent branding and voice. She is passionate about children’s health and well-being, art, literature, human rights, homelessness issues, and helping others. Diana has volunteered in the homeless care field for over two decades and perseveres to help those who are impoverished.
