Brenda William-Sears
Brenda believes everyone should have access to quality education, jobs, safety, housing, nutritious food, health care, civil rights and a clean environment. She has been honored to work with groups working on eliminating the school to prison pipeline, expanding renters’ rights, reducing discrimination in the workplace, and changing institutional policies to be more faire, just, and inclusive.
Prior to joining KFLA, Brenda was a program officer at the Colorado Health Foundation where she envisioned, developed, and managed a $7 million advocacy funding initiative to emphasize the value and amplify the power of those who are marginalized and disenfranchised. She also served as a board member of Chinook Fund and was a senior program coordinator for the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan. Brenda is originally from Chicago and has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Dartmouth College and a Master of Public Health from Yale University.
